Discussing Democrats Green Grift on SiriusXM
A clip from last week when I was on David Webb's show
I was on the David Webb Show the other day on SiriusXM.
One of my core focuses is bringing the environmental argument back to the right side of the political spectrum—so we can actually protect the environment through state-by-state and regional efforts, rather than defaulting to continued federal overreach.
That’s not to say the federal government doesn’t have a role—but increasingly, what we’re seeing is cronyism and rent-seeking tied to the renewable energy industry. I’m not alone in thinking we need more land conserved, more wild places protected—not just more industrial renewables. That’s an energy matrix conversation, and if we’re being serious, it has to include nuclear. America is simply too large to be powered by solar panels and wind farms alone.
More importantly, I don’t think we should be trying to “save the climate” if we’re not first committed to saving nature—rewilding habitats, conserving ecosystems, and protecting what’s left. I don’t want to live in a world without nature.
The left is missing the mark. But the right hasn’t fully stepped up—and they need to. Teddy Roosevelt was a conservative, even if he was a progressive one. Richard Nixon created the EPA. There’s a long, proud history of Republican-led conservation.
At the end of the day, we need to make nature a nonpartisan priority—and conservatives need to lead. Groups like Nature is Nonpartisan, led by Benji Backer, are doing important work to reclaim that ground.
Let’s not leave nature behind.
